Bela provided Matt the files on the job not long after their last conversation. She damn well hopes he studied up. She certainly has.

She really needs that grimoire back, but the lure of the Scarab of Jesemeny is too much to resist. Besides she's been hired to obtain it for its rightful owner; the collector she'll be robbing stole it from the family during some war. Or something. She's fuzzy on details.

But hell, she's practically doing a good deed. A good deed for a very large amount of money.

While she really needs Matt's magical skills, she's still reluctant about having a third join the party. Everything's off if she doesn't find this Jordie a likely collaborator.

She can work alone. She always has.

Bela's back in the bar, dressed in an evening gown and diamond necklace. She does love the opera.

She sees Matt - who, by the way, has had her grimoire a while by now - and waves, gliding over to his table on divine Manolo-Blahniks.

Bela guides Matt through the door from Milliways into her walk-in closet. There are shoes there. Lots and lots and lots of shoes.

"You should probably try out some magic here. Make sure it works the same way you're used to."

They're in her bedroom, and while she gives one lingering glance towards her bed, she keeps walking.

They have a job to do!
